Teaching English is what I do, all levels, business, tourism, hosptality, daily conversation, preparation for studying overseas.I have a lot of experience in corporate training. Hanoi attracts me because there are different seasons. What countries have you worked in? I taught in China for 4 years and have been teaching in Thailand for three years. I remained at the same job in each country. Additionally I work at the premiere language school in Bangkok weekends. Monday to Friday I work at a government high school. In China I was the only Senior Teacher and National Trainer at a school with 13 branches and was sent to many different cities to help open, hire and train teachers and Chinese staff. What countries do you have a visa to work in? I currently have the papers to work in Thailand, visa and work permit. What field do you currently work in? English language learning What fields have you worked in before? Real estate, project management, transportation, tourism. What qualifications do you hold? College educated and Advanced Tesol Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? In language learning speaking and writing skills are most important. Describe the benefits of working with others I can learn from anyone. I can teach at any level to any individual or group. Working with others increases the connection among different groups and deepens understanding of culture. Describe the benefits of working alone Working alone gives you opportunity to perform to a high standard of excellence. What was your worst working experience? I don't really have a worst experience. Every experience taught me something I didn't know. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Professionalism is very important. What unique skills do you have? I connect to students in a meaningful way adding to their language learning experience. I teach in a refeshing fun way that involves the students so language learning is effortless. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Teaching in a positive environment with students who are hungry to improve their language skills. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Seeing resuklts. Seeing a student go from no English to fluency. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? When a class or student cancels a lesson! Is age a barrier? Not to me, at a young 61 I have more energy and vitality than most 20 year olds. I love to work and bring direct classroom experience with a varied business backgroud to my students. I write fiction as well and love to teach the fine poins of story telling, the plot arc and developing interesting characters set in a great story line.
