Formal education or skills and why? Skills- Formal education is a stiff and rigid format for learning put in place to teach a broad range of information in a little amount of time. Skills are learned and modified through real-life experience, especially relative to the field of work your currently engaged in. Skills can be applied more often to job related tasks. Describe the benefits of working with others Learning skills and tools of the trade from co-workers, an extended network of help and support which leads to increased productivity and overall employee well being, and being able to adapt to situations more rapidly as they arise in demanding environments. Flexibility. Describe the benefits of working alone Often times isolated work environments can lead to more direct and focussed work habits, allowing the employee to put 110% into his/projects. What was your worst working experience? At the age of 16, I was working 40 hour weeks in a bar and grill while in highschool; all under the direction of an alcoholic owner who left most of the duties of opening and closing to me. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Finish a job with dedication and respect once you begin one, while making sure you are being equally respected. What unique skills do you have? Surf photographer, bartending, and an excellent ability to negotiate with people, ensuring the happiness and satisfaction of both customer and provider. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Private boat captain operating an overnight boat specializng in catered meals cooked on board. The charter would be based out of the Caribbean and willing to move around at the clients request. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Photography- moving around the globe and seeing some of the planets most spectacular displays of natural power and beauty. Food Service- Interacting with people on a daily basis. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Photography- Preparing photos for sale venues and transporting framed goods. Food Service- Setting up the floor before opening.
