Employment OpportunitiesWhat type of job are you looking for? I hate to start off with not really sure, but that is the true answer. I have worked in corporate america since college which is about 18 years. My profession is commercial insurance specific to construction, 15 years as an insurance broker and almost 3 years now working for an actual construction firm. There is a big part of me that likes what I do and if I could continue but relocate that would be great, if not, I would at this point in my like be very open to a change. What languages do you speak (and at what level)? English What State are you looking to work in and why? United States Virgin Islands. I have visited the Island a couple times and want to make a change. USVI offers all the thinkgs I am looking for while still living in the US. What field do you currently work in? Insurance What fields have you worked in before? Insurance since I graduated college. What qualifications do you hold? College degree. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Skills as I do not believe that my formal education has had a big inpack on where I am today. Describe the benefits of working with others I think the biggest benefit of working with others is to surround yourself with good, smart people that can help you to improve and grow. Describe the benefits of working alone Working alone challenges you to be able to solve things on your own. What was your worst working experience? My current employment which has been my best - worst job in my career. This job is the first time working on the client side of the business and has been a great learning experience but also included unnecessary What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? That you should never burn your bridges as an industry like mine is ver small. What unique skills do you have? The ability to admit when I do not understand something and ask questions so that it can get done. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? I really do not have a dream job, as I have only known one type of profession since college. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? As I work for a construction firm, getting out and visiting project sites. It is amazing to watch something be built, from the first visit to the site when it is a hole in the ground versus the last time you visit the site and it is complete. Just the thought of coordinating the hundreds of workers and everything working in the end is just something you cannot learn in a book. What are the least interesting aspects of your field?
