NGOs in VirginiaWhat type of job are you looking for? I am looking for any type of job that allows me to really help people with issues. What languages do you speak (and at what level)? I speak English and Spanish fluently. What State are you looking to work in and why? Virginia because that's where my parents are living and I want to be around family for a while. What field do you currently work in? I just got done volunteer teaching in Guatemala for the past year as a 5th Grade teacher at a private school. What fields have you worked in before? I have worked in various positions across the Western Hemisphere in many different countries; many have been as I was there visiting for the summer during some type of church work. I feel comfortable working in any type of position that involves other people. What qualifications do you hold? I have a BA in Spanish with a minor in Philosophy. I am currently looking into Grad School programs for Political science. I am a very hard worker and have never met a challenge I haven't been able to tackle. I am driven and looking for a job that will give me a sense of purpose. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I think that they are both highly valuable, and one without the other is not as valuable as someone with both, a formal education who has spent time carefully examing a specific field and who has spent time practicing what they have spent time reflecting upon. Describe the benefits of working with others Working with others creates community which is what we humans inately desire, community with others. Thus at times although it can creates drama, working with others brings a sense of value to our work as well as encouragement and drive. What was your worst working experience? Working in a restaurant. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? You need to like what you do. What unique skills do you have?
