Kiswahili and English

Kenya being a commonwealth country, English is the official language and language of instruction in school. I have studied Kiswahili upto Master degree level.

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

Washington U.S.A. Kiswahili is a lincua franca spreading fast all over the world. Washington is the seat of language education and broadcasting. I wish to be part of a team that will help entrench Kiswahili as a medium of communication at the national and international level. I admire the American free society where creativity and hard work are the pillars of education and innovation

What field do you currently work in?

Am currently a teacher trainer and Kiswahili insructor at a primary teacher training college.

What fields have you worked in before?

Teaching Kiswahili and civic education.

What qualifications do you hold?

Master of Education in Kiswahili.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

Skills. Skills are integral in personal development and should be the ultimate goal of formal education.

Describe the benefits of working with others

Sharing ideas,promotes healthy competition, enhances creativity and builds teamwork.

Gives personal responsibility in decision making

What was your worst working experience?

Working in a restricted environment without ability to express own ideas.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

Never create a comfort zone and be contented at certain level

What unique skills do you have?

Ability to inspire.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

Teaching Kiswahili in a multi lingual setting.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

It entails meeting people and imparting knowledge.
