| Answers: Why are there so many more license plates in Virginia? Someone on Y!A once asked, "Why are there so many more out of state license plates in the West?"...just type it in the search bar and it should come up. However, I've experienced the exact opposite: In Virginia (especially Northern Virginia), it seems that almost every car has an out of state license plate. However, I just moved to Texas to start a job, and here in Texas, there are hardly ANY out of state plates. My best guess to that is (and perhaps I'm answering my own question here), most visitors to TX fly in and rent a car, while VA has many routes and highways going in and out (some of them are very scenic), making it accessible from many other states. Also, DC/NoVA is a melting pot of people from all over the country. Any other ideas? |
