17th June 2008Dear Sir, REQUEST FOR A SUITABLE POSITION IN TELECOMMUNICATION IN YOUR COUNTRY Suntel Limited is the fastest growing telecommunication service provider in Sri Lanka. The company is reputed as the Number One in terms of Service Excellence and uses the latest technologies with internationally recognized ISO 9001:2000 quality certification in Sri Lanka, with an all-digital network that connects more than 450 000 residential and business customers ranging from corner shops to the biggest corporate names in the country. This is to certify that Mr. Suram Alex Jayasinghe was recruited as a Technical Officer by Suntel Limited on 16th of July 2001 having considered reputed Academic Qualification, the National Diploma in Technology in the field of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering Technology awarded by the University of Moratuwa in Sri Lanka. During tenure as a Trainee Technical Officer from 16th July of 2001 to 31st December 2006 I gathered a wide range of experience and excellent capability to perform these tasks individually in the following areas. I. Installing, commissioning and maintaining of various types of telecommunication access system (DRA1900, MIDAS, corVAN, RAS 1000, SR500, Airspan, WipLL, WALKair 1000, CDMA and Ericson Microwave Links) deployed by Suntel Ltd., including meeting the safety and quality standards for domestic and corporate customers. II. Configurations and maintenance of various types of solutions such as Voice, VOIP, IPVPN, ISP Links, Point to Point Leased line, LAN and WAN networks by analyzing, identifying and trouble shooting of faults by replacing the faulty equipments such as Radio, Antenna, Router, MUX, MODEM, Switch, Power supply systems, and sub end equipment use in Access system mentioned in section (I) in indoor and outdoor premises of customers by using digital and analogue measuring equipments, management systems and coordinating with both customers and exchange staff to fix the problems. III. Identifying of faults by analyzing, troubleshooting and faults rectifying by replacing and repairing of faulty items of sub end equipments such as DAU (Dect Access Unit) in DRA 1900, ALM (Antenna Line Module) in MIDAS and corVAN, SRT (Subscriber Radio Unit) in RAS 1000, R1, R2 , iST , V4 voice , ISDN and Data Unit (Leased Line) in Aispan, SPR (Subscriber premises Radio) in WipLL, TS-BU (Terminal Station Basic Unit) in WALKair and CDMA phones (Axxe.stel, Aiji, Sungil, Huawei, Dautel, ZTE, Telular) ISDN unit, Data Unit (Leased Line), using electronic measuring instruments such as Soldering and De-Soldering Irons, Pliers, Cutting Tools, Crimping Tools, Multi Meter, digital and analogue transmission measuring equipment. IV. Examining drawings, specifications and work areas for the determination of work requirements according to the different types of telecommunication solutions for residential and corporate customers. V. Carrying out field strength surveys and coverage surveys for above access systems and preparing detailed coverage maps. VI. Programming and reprogramming new and repaired indoor and outdoor subscriber-end equipments mentioned under section (III) using different programming software tools and registered them in above access system and switches (AXE 10, HLR 9820 in Csoft 3000 and TLS (Transit Local switch), DIU in MIDAS system) through management terminals and subscriber provisioning through Suntel’s billing system. VII. Supporting C/C (Customer Care), FOC (Field Operation Center), CIM (Cooperate Installations and Maintenance Center), all dealer and main Suntel sales centers for help desk activities such as address changes, conversions, subscriber end equipment changes and customer related issues using management terminal (Access and Switches). VIII. All supplementary services and IN (Integrated Network) services management (Call forwarding, Call waiting, Call forwarding on busy service, call forwarding on no reply, direct dialing, abbreviated dialing, hunting, dial VPN, different tariffs activation etc.). IX. Conferring with superiors to coordinate activities with other organizational units and departments. X. Generating and maintaining of reports for subscribers for various types of Access system. Having considered the merits I had gained during my nearly five and half year traineeship, knowledge and experience in the field of Electronics and Telecommunications I was promoted to the post of Senior Technical Officer with effect from 1st January 2007 and thereafter to the post of Assistant Manager. At present he works as Assistant Manager with much more responsibilities in executing the following duties. I. Providing Instructions, Demonstrating, Monitoring, Allocating staffs and conducting training programs in above mentioned areas II. Maintaining attendance records and rosters for the staffs and labor handling. III. Overseeing the overall work of the unit and suggests improvements and changes. IV. Participating the process meeting and discussions on major projects. I am multi-tasker who co-ordinates resources effectively to achieve targets within stringent deadlines. I am a skilled problem solver who takes an objective overview and generates viable solutions. Energetic and dynamic, I relishes challenges and demonstrate in depth strategic planning ability to facilitate operational and procedural planning.
