Ambient Jobs Interview

By Interviewer at 02/04/08 13:40

Name of your website?

Ambient Jobs

Your name?

Simone Icough

Your Location (city, etc)

La Cala de Mijas, Mijas Costa

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Job search website offering positions to candidates looking for work and offering businesses a recruitment service - covering all the major areas such as accounting, administration, advertising, automotive, banking, construction, finance, hospitality, IT, marketing, media sales, PR, online gaming, sales, security. Upload your CV and apply for jobs online

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Moved to Spain to start a new business, I did the same whilst in the UK

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

January 2006

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Ambient came about because we were looking for a word that meant calm with a nice atmosphere

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

Dedicated staff that are qualified in the recruitment sector and dedicated members of staff that are particularly tailored to online gaming jobs, we cover the whole of Spain and Gibraltar and we have a tailor made website to cover all industries and a section where members can post wanted ads

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Keep it for income and grow into other markets

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

We are earning good money from the website now, get many visitors each month and there are many good people looking for quality careers

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

We would re-write the website as we have out-grown the website really, budgets being tight at the moment to build the business. We would add a forum and have dedicated staff who can monitor and help those searching for work, we would have a blog and a member of staff who is able to cope with the update of the blog.......bigger budgets for adwords, directories and links

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

We would need to employ new staff to accommodate but being a recruitment agency that shouldn't be too hard!

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Employers not paying outstanding invoices for staff placed with them

What has been your biggest challenge?

Fighting the competition that is already on the coast offering a similar service but without the dedication

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Internet

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

I ran a website before this one there are no expectations that have differed

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

2006 we launched and we plan to keep for the forseable future

What is your website address?

Ambient Jobs
