Footprints Recruiting - Teach english abroad Interview

By Interviewer at 07/09/07 17:29
Name of your website?

Footprints Recruiting - Teach english abroad

Your name?

Jeff

Your Location (city, etc)

Vancouver

When did you start your website and why?

Our website was started in 2001 after returning from teaching english overseas in Korea for 3 years. Our experience teaching overseas showed us a need to help better facilitate teachers and the schools overseas.

Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc

Footprints Recruiting specializes in placing teachers in primarily Korea, Taiwan and China. The cost to teachers is free and includes a free plane ticket to the country you will be teaching in.

Who maintains your website and why?

One of the co-founders, Jeff Strachan, maintains the website with the help of a couple computer programmers. His hands-on approach ensures the website's direction does not alter its course and our company remains focused.

Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?

Our business is mainly an internet business so most of our referrals come through the internet, although we do receive many referrals from former clients word-of-mouth and universities and other educational institutions.

What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?

Google and other search engines are definitely a nice bridge between us and our prospective clients. Our costs would be many times larger if we had to only advertise offline and could not take advantage of free search engine traffic.

What is your website address?

Bad news for unemployment cheats in Pennsylvania

By Poncho DeSchambeau at 07/05/07 12:52
The PA Department of Labor and Industry came up with a new way to do the Unemployment interviews.

This could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on whether you are the employer or the good for nothing lazy employee trying to scam them for unemployment dollars even though you did a crappy job.

L&I is calling the employers to do phone interviews to give them the chance to tell them why they REALLY got rid of the employee. They say this hopefully will increase the accuracy and efficiency of eligibility determinations.

Finally, a chance to really explain where you stand on the issues. You will probably be submitting information directly to the examiner who will decide whether the employee gets the money or not. You can't lie, but you can embellish your story with the truth, which in most lazy employee cases if the undoing of them getting their money.
