Please give us a short summary of your website?
AnesthesiologistAssistant.com is a niche job board posting website for Anesthesiologist Assistant professionals. "AnesthesiologistAssistant.com was created with one thought in mind, to offer a unique job posting board exclusively for Anesthesiologist Assistants," said Christopher Green, President and Chief Operating Officer.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
The inspiration came from the AA profession itself and their constant fight for recognition as valued members of the anesthesia care team(which they are). I dreamed of a website for AAs that offered a private forum where AAs could share ideas as well as problem solve; a career development center for resume writing assistance; an exclusive AA job posting board for AAs only and where hiring managers could post job needs.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
The first anesthesia website that I launched was AnesthesiaAssistant.com. It was basically a website that explained the who, what and why about Anesthesiologist Assistants.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I have always been interested in the field of anesthesia and website development. Many years ago I noticed a newley emerging profession called an anesthesiologist assistant. As I read more about the politics behind its slow progression. I purchased the name of the profession, AnesthesiologistAssistant.com and started to build an informative meaningful website.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
AnesthesiologistAssistant.com realizes the valuable time spent searching for the right position for both Anesthesiologist Assistants and Hospital hiring managers. Anesthesiologist Assistants know that their time will be well spent in our site and their resume is not going to get lost in a sea of unrelated resumes; Hiring managers enjoy coming to us because our niche market can save them on average $12,000, per hire, on recruiting commissions.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Our goal is to become the #1 employment website for Anesthesiologist Assistants.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Much like anything in life the more time you spend on the development of an idea the greater it becomes. My passion and energy are endless. AnesthesiologistAssistant.com will only grow larger and more valuable in time.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would probably integrate live video/eAnesthesia conferencing and probably hire a staff of Anesthesiologists and Anesthesiologist Assistants to write about unusual anesthesia situations and resolutions to any life threatening situation in the OR.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
When AnesthesiologistAssistant.com gets really big and AAs and hiring managers start posting hundreds of job needs. The website will be ready. It was designed to take on thousands of tasks per day!
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
I have been very lucky. AnesthesiologistAssistant.com has been working like a smooth oiled machine.
What has been your biggest challenge?
To get the attention of the Anesthesia community. To let them know that AnesthesiologistAssistant.com was created to help promote the Anesthesiologist Assistant profession!
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
The method that I use is good old fashion hard work! Sending emails, listing in search engines, advertising in national news papers, signing up on numerous web directories.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
I never thought I would have been so time consuming! It takes a lot of time but worth every minute!
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I plan on running AnesthesiologistAssistant.com forever. I get satisfaction knowing that I am helping, in someway the Anesthesiologist Assistant profession.
Who is your biggest fan in the Anesthesiologst Assistant profession?
My biggest supporter is Rob Wagner. The past president of the American Academy of Anesthesiologist Assistants. He currently heads the Nova Southeastern University program in South Florida.
What is your website address?
