Will The environment suffer for job creation?

Alaska's unemployment rate, despite still remaining lower than the national average, jumped up a few percentage points to 8.9% in October. It is not unusual to see a seasonal decline in employment when the tourist ends. The many indirect jobs which tourism creates are lost and the processing of summer seafood also closes down. However, despite this expected decline, this years loss of 16,000 jobs was 3000 more than during the same period last year. That is a significant increase.
