What inspired you to launch your own website?
I have been working in UK for 5 years and found a job for lots of my friends. The Idea was to help the UK businesses to find great people, help to our candidates to find great employers and make my living from it.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
We have been travelling Italy for couple of weeks, so the first website was related to it. Small guide to Itally.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
ALBION = England, it is the main location where we supply our workers.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
We don't require payment in advance. It means that it is in our interest to source quality candidates, otherwise I would not get paid. We have personal experiences with working abroad. It helps very much.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To find good partners, where I don't have to afraid send people to. Build successful company - of course.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
It is getting better. Sometimes I am wondering what I am doing and why, but most of the time it makes me happy.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would open more offices abroad.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
I will have to. It is just me at this moment and one part timer, but it will change quickly.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
I just don't get why are people so unreliable..on both sides...it makes me angry and sometimes makes me laugh.
What has been your biggest challenge?
To beat Czech bureaucracy.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Internet advertising, definitively.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Well we had to deal with spamming of our Guest book and e-mail. Otherwise nope.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
3 years and will keep it up as far as my business is kicking.
Why are you doing this?
Because it makes me happy to change peoples lives and receive good feedback.
