The statistics for treatment programs in Alabama can be quite alarming – the Office of Applied Studies, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration show that the total admissions for drug rehab programs and alcohol rehab programs were 15, 072 people in 2005. The highest number of admissions was for marijuana/hashish addictions with 4, 249 people being admitted for drug rehab, while smoked cocaine came in second with 2, 522 people and alcohol third with 2, 427 people.
