Talented Web / Perl programmer to build RSS server applications

Grazr ( www.grazr.com ) is seeking talented Web developers working with perl and MySQL.

This is a telecommuting position for a talented individual contractor from anywhere in the world. Grazr will offer one-week paid trials to qualifying candidates. The successful candidate will be offered a long-term position, part-time or full-time, leading the development of this component.

ABOUT GRAZR

Grazr is a program that runs within any standard Web browser. It is used to display various types of feeds in RSS, RDF and Atom formats. The Grazr company is a group of experienced entrepreneurs and well-known bloggers who are building the infrastructure to manage a huge volume of public, private, and corporate RSS feeds.

TASK

The candidate will build server infrastructure, starting with a reporting system. Tasks will include:

* Designing databases to handle information generated by the Grazr network

* Building a Web user interface for reporting, user management, and feed management

* Participating in the team with daily commits and discussion

DEVELOPER REQUIREMENTS

* Talented Web perl programmer. We are looking for developers in the top 10% of all talent. The Grazr team is already very talented.

* Familiar with Linux, Apache, MySQL and perl. Can set up and maintain development systems.

* Knowledge of SQL. Knowledge of javascript. Can build user interfaces if given design elements.

* Has experience working in a distributed team. Knows how to use subversion and issue tracking systems.

* Has broadband networking and a development workstation.
